Coolie Hindi film's climax was changed due to a very special reason?

The climax of the Hindi film Coolie (1983) was changed for a very special and emotional reason.

Originally, the script had Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Iqbal, dying in the climax. However, during filming, Amitabh suffered a near-fatal accident on set while shooting an action scene with Puneet Issar in July 1982. The entire nation prayed for his recovery, and the incident created an unprecedented emotional connection between the audience and the actor.

Because millions of people had prayed for him to survive in real life, the filmmakers felt it would be too heartbreaking and insensitive to show his character die in the movie. As a tribute to the audience’s love and prayers, the climax was changed so that Amitabh’s character survives instead of dying.

This decision made Coolie even more memorable and emotionally significant to fans.
