John Saint Ryan, a notable actor known for his roles in Coronation Street and Emmerdale, has passed away at the age of 72. He died following a heart attack on April 3, 2025, as confirmed by his family in a Facebook post. Ryan was born in Burnley, Lancashire, and had a diverse career, including acting and equestrian pursuits. He played Charlie Whelan in Coronation

 Street from 1987 to 1993 and appeared in several other TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Murder, She Wrote. His body was donated for medical research, and a celebration of his life will be held later.
