Sports Interactive has canceled the release of Football Manager 25 (FM25) after facing multiple delays. The developers determined that the game was "too distant from the quality you deserve". They will now focus on Football Manager 26, which is expected to be released later this year.

Reasons for Cancellation
  • Sports Interactive said they could not meet their objectives in several game areas, despite their team's efforts.
  • The company was unwilling to push the release beyond March, as it would be too late in the football season.
  • The developers encountered unforeseen issues and challenges while trying to deliver substantial technical and visual enhancements.
Refunds and FM24 Updates

  • Those who pre-ordered FM25 will automatically receive full refunds from official SEGA-approved retailers.
  • Football Manager 2024 will not be updated with the latest squads, as this would divert resources from the next release.
Sports Interactive apologized for the cancellation, citing financial regulations and responsibilities to its investors as the reason they couldn't disclose the postponement sooner.
