UFC 312: Dricus du Plessis badly breaks Sean Strickland's nose

Dricus du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland at UFC 312 in Sydney, Australia, retaining his UFC middleweight title. The fight went the distance, with du Plessis winning by unanimous decision after five rounds. This victory marks du Plessis' second title defense

 

A significant moment in the fight occurred in the fourth round when du Plessis landed a right-hand punch that broke Strickland's nose. 
The injury caused profuse bleeding, visibly impacting Strickland. Despite the injury, Strickland continued fighting until the end of the match.Du Plessis dominated the fight, outstriking Strickland and compromising his defense with punches and kicks to the body and legs. Although du Plessis attempted only two takedowns, landing one, he focused on striking, unlike their previous fight where he attempted more takedowns.The judges awarded the fight to Du Plessis with scores of 50-45, 50-45, and 49-46. With this win, Du Plessis ties with Chris Weidman for the third-longest winning streak in UFC middleweight history.
