More than 2 million cases of grocery-sold donut, pastry products recalled

More than two million cases of donut and pastry products have been recalled in the U.S. and Canada due to potential Listeria contamination. The voluntary recall was initiated by FGF Brands and includes 60 different baked goods, including various types of donuts, fritters, and pastries. The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall.

Details of the Recall:

  • Products Affected: The recall includes various donut varieties like cake donut rings, raspberry-filled donuts, French crullers, Bavarian-filled donuts, and Dunkin' products, including some Munchkin flavors.
  • Production Date: The recall impacts all products produced on or before December 13, 2024.
  • Contamination: The products have the potential for contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
  • Distribution: The recalled items were distributed to grocery stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Listeria Risks:

  • Listeria is a bacteria that can contaminate foods and cause Listeriosis.
  • Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, headache, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions, sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms.
  • Listeria infections can be particularly risky for pregnant women, older adults, newborns, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
