Penn State has officially hired Jim Knowles as their new defensive coordinator, leaving his position at Ohio State. This move is significant as Knowles will be the highest-paid defensive coordinator in college football, with an average salary of $3.1 million over three years.

During his tenure at Ohio State, Knowles helped the team achieve a top-three ranking in total defense for two seasons.
His arrival is expected to bolster Penn State's defensive strategies as they aim for continued success following a strong performance in the recent College Football Playoff. The Nittany Lions will kick off their season against Nevada and face Knowles' former team, Ohio State, on November 1.
