Paul Danan, the Hollyoaks star,dies aged 46 after 'obsessive vaping' habit

Paul Danan, a well-known English actor from Hollyoaks, died on January 15, 2025, at the age of 46. He was best known for playing Sol Patrick in the Channel 4 soap opera from 1997 to 2001


Health Struggles
Last year, Danan experienced a serious health incident related to his vaping addiction. He collapsed due to respiratory failure after an "obsessive" vape usage, requiring CPR from his family and hospitalization in the ICU. He previously admitted that vaping had "pushed him over the edge" and that he wrongly thought it was a "safer way to smoke".

Career Highlights
Throughout his career, Danan appeared on various reality shows, including the first two series of Celebrity Love Island, Celebrity Big Brother, and Celebrity Coach Trip. He was also open about his struggles with substance addiction, even establishing a drama school in 2023 for those experiencing addiction challenges.

His management released a statement describing him as "a beacon of light to so many" and requesting privacy for his family during this difficult time.

White House fires National Security Agency chief
