Why Biden pardoned Hunter


President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden, who faced sentencing for firearm and tax-related offenses, citing "selective and unfair prosecution" due to Hunter's family name. 

This decision reverses Biden's previous commitments not to intervene in his son's legal matters. The president expressed that Hunter was targeted politically, claiming that the judicial process had been tainted by politics. The pardon eliminates any possibility of imprisonment for Hunter, who has struggled with addiction and faced significant public scrutiny. 

Biden emphasized a father's love as a driving factor behind his decision, hoping to shield his son from further political attacks

White House fires National Security Agency chief
