Storms sweep southest Texas

Severe storms swept through Southeast Texas on Saturday, December 28, causing significant damage and loss of life. Multiple tornadoes were reported across the region



  • Tornado Locations:
    • Katy: Tornado damage reported in a mobile home park, with cars flipped over
    • Cypress: Tornado sighted near Highway 290 and Spring Cypress Road
    • Porter Heights: Mobile homes destroyed and buildings damaged
    • Splendora: Tornado sighted near FM 2090 and Splendora High School
    • Brazoria County: Tornado touched down in multiple areas between Liverpool and Hillcrest
Casualties and Damage:

  • At least one person died in Brazoria County
  • Four people were injured in Brazoria County
  • Extensive property damage, including:
    • Homes destroyed
    • Roofs torn off
    • Power lines down
    • Over 182,000 people lost electricity across multiple states

The National Weather Service confirmed at least five tornadoes in the Houston area, with the severe weather system continuing to move eastward

White House fires National Security Agency chief

Watch more The White House has fired General Timothy Haugh, the director of the National Security Agency (NSA), and his deputy, Wendy Noble. Haugh also led U.S. Cyber Command, overseeing both offensive and defensive cyber operations. The reasons for their dismissal are unclear, but it follows a series of high-profile firings by the Trump administration,  including National Security Council staff members. Lt. Gen. William Hartman will serve as the acting NSA director, while Sheila Thomas becomes the acting deputy director .   Top Democrats have criticized the move, citing concerns about national security and the lack of explanation .
