Season 2 of The Day of the Jackal


Season 2 of The Day of the Jackal has been officially renewed by Peacock following the conclusion of Season 1 on December 12, 2024.

 While a specific release date for the new season has not been announced, it is speculated that production could begin in early 2025. If it follows a similar timeline to Season 1, which took about seven months to film and had a 12-month gap before release, fans might expect Season 2 to premiere in 2026, likely in the first half of the year. 

The series stars Eddie Redmayne as the titular assassin and has gained significant popularity since its debut.

White House fires National Security Agency chief

Watch more The White House has fired General Timothy Haugh, the director of the National Security Agency (NSA), and his deputy, Wendy Noble. Haugh also led U.S. Cyber Command, overseeing both offensive and defensive cyber operations. The reasons for their dismissal are unclear, but it follows a series of high-profile firings by the Trump administration,  including National Security Council staff members. Lt. Gen. William Hartman will serve as the acting NSA director, while Sheila Thomas becomes the acting deputy director .   Top Democrats have criticized the move, citing concerns about national security and the lack of explanation .
