Paapa Essiedu in HBO series

Paapa Essiedu is reportedly in negotiations to play Severus Snape in HBO's upcoming "Harry Potter" series. Known for his roles in "I May Destroy You" and "Black Mirror," Essiedu has not yet formally accepted the role, and no official agreements have been reached.
The character of Snape, previously portrayed by Alan Rickman, is pivotal in the series, characterized by his complex loyalty and sharp wit.

The potential casting has sparked mixed reactions among fans, with some expressing outrage over the choice of a Black actor for the role, while others support Essiedu's extensive acting credentials. HBO has acknowledged the rumors but will confirm details as pre-production progresses.
