Merseyside derby postponed on safety ground

The Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool has been postponed due to safety concerns arising from Storm Darragh, which brought severe weather conditions, including winds up to 70 mph.

The decision was made following a meeting involving both clubs, Merseyside Police, and local authorities, prioritizing the safety of fans and staff.

This match was expected to be significant as it could be the last Premier League derby at Goodison Park before Everton's move to a new stadium. A new date for the fixture has yet to be confirmed, with scheduling complexities due to both teams' commitments in domestic and European competitions.
