Southern Water has confirmed a significant water outage affecting approximately 58,000 homes across Hampshire, with supplies unlikely to be fully restored until the weekend.

Key Details:
  • The issue stems from a "technical fault" at the Testwood water supply works
  • Affected areas include Southampton, Romsey, Eastleigh, Totton, and parts of the New Forest
  • 10 schools have been forced to close due to the water disruption
  • Impacted postcodes: SO15, SO16, SO40, SO42, SO43, SO45, SO50, SO51, SO52, SO53

  • Bottled water stations established at Places Leisure Centre in Eastleigh
