'Greatest of all time' Rickey Henderson dies at 65

Rickey Henderson, the legendary MLB player known as the "Man of Steal", passed away at 65 on Friday. A Hall of Fame baseball icon, Henderson was the all-time leader in stolen bases with 1,406, far surpassing other players.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred called Henderson "the gold standard of base stealing and leadoff hitting", noting his extraordinary impact on the game. 
Henderson was born in Chicago and grew up in Oakland, where he became a three-sport athlete at Oakland Technical High School.His family released a statement describing him as "a legend on and off the field" and "a truly humble soul", emphasizing his integrity and love for baseball. Henderson would have turned 66 on Christmas Day.
