Dodgy firestick crackdown

The crackdown on "dodgy" firesticks in the UK has intensified, with police visiting homes to address illegal streaming activities.

Spearheaded by the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), this initiative aims to dismantle piracy operations and target around 30 suppliers providing unauthorized access to paywalled content.

While owning a jailbroken Amazon Firestick is not illegal, using it to stream subscription content for free is against the law. Recent enforcement actions include cease-and-desist letters sent to users and arrests, highlighting the serious legal risks associated with illegal streaming.

The operation covers various regions across the UK, emphasizing a strong warning to both suppliers and users of illicit streaming devices.
