ABC news to pay $15 million
ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million to settle a defamation lawsuit filed by President-elect Donald Trump.
The suit stemmed from inaccurate statements made by anchor George Stephanopoulos, who claimed Trump had been "found liable for raping" E. Jean Carroll during a March interview.
The settlement includes a public apology and $1 million in legal fees for Trump's team. The funds will support a presidential foundation and museum for Trump, with ABC also issuing an editor's note expressing regret over the remarks made during the broadcast
