Pam Bondi nominee for US Attorney General

Donald Trump has chosen Pam Bondi, the former Florida Attorney General, as his nominee for U.S. Attorney General after Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration due to scrutiny over allegations of sexual misconduct.

Bondi, a long-time ally of Trump, previously defended him during his first impeachment trial and has a strong background in law enforcement.

Trump's announcement emphasized her commitment to combating crime and restoring trust in the Department of Justice, which he claims has been politicized. If confirmed, Bondi will oversee a department with over 115,000 employees and a budget of approximately $45 billion.
