The Mumbai Crime Branch has filed a petition in a special court seeking permission to begin the extradition process, which was granted on October 16.

Anmol Bishnoi, the 25-year-old brother of the notorious Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is currently at the center of a significant law enforcement effort due to his involvement in several high-profile criminal cases.

Anmol Bishnoi hails from Fazilka in Punjab and is implicated in a multitude of serious crimes, including:


The firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in April 2024


The murder of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022, where he allegedly provided the weapons used in the killing



The murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique on October 12, 2024, where he coordinated the attack and provided logistical support to the shooters



Extradition Efforts

US authorities have confirmed Anmol Bishnoi's presence in the United States, prompting the Mumbai Police to initiate extradition proceedings. The Mumbai Crime Branch has filed a petition in a special court seeking permission to begin the extradition process, which was granted on October 16



International Involvement


Anmol Bishnoi is believed to have fled India on a fake passport and is currently thought to be living in Canada, although he makes regular travels to the US. 


The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has added his name to its most-wanted list and announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

Role in Criminal Operations


Anmol Bishnoi is accused of orchestrating several operations on behalf of his brother Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently imprisoned in Gujarat's Sabarmati jail. 

He has been involved in supplying weapons and providing logistical support to the perpetrators of various crimes, including the murder of Sidhu Moosewala and the firing incident at Salman Khan's residence



Legal Proceedings

The Mumbai Police have informed the Sessions Court of their intent to extradite Anmol Bishnoi to face charges related to these cases. A Red Corner Notice has also been issued to aid in his international search
